Central Florida Track Officials - Preseason training tips
We have all
recently received the Rule Book, Case Book, Official's Manual, FHSAA
Officials Guidebook, and a copy of the 2009 Rules Exam & Answer Key.
Many of you for the first time.
The NFHS Track
and Field Rules Examination is used in various ways across the country.
In some states
it is used to qualify officials for certification only. In others it is
used annually as an open book test to insure rules review. It requires
meticulous reading prior to answering questions.
Our
recommended way of preparing for the examination is this. Using Rule #2
as an example -
1) Read the
rule in its entirety.
2) Read all
the Case Book citing's for Rule 2.
3) Then answer
the test questions posed pertaining to Rule 2.
4) Repeat this
procedure for Rules 3,4,5,6,7,8,9.
This is a
methodical way to approach rule review that ensures clarification and
reinforcement of our learning. You will be well versed in the rules as a
result.
We will be
offering additional Training Tips relative to the Officials Guidebook
and Official's Manual on a weekly basis leading up to the Indoor Season.
